Our History

Pat Fletcher often expressed the desire to establish a means of providing financial assistance to deserving, young Canadian golfers to continue their education at the post-secondary level. He wanted to return something to the game of golf that had enriched his life and career. As such, he was committed to establishing a charitable foundation that would be supported by persons and organizations interested in golf and education.

The Pat Fletcher Scholarship Foundation was established in 1986 as a tribute to Pat Fletcher’s many accomplishments. The Foundation began through the generous contributions and efforts of many people and is fulfilling its objectives.

The first scholarship was awarded in 1988 and the Foundation continues to thrive. The Foundation is a non-profit, federally-licensed organization duly accredited for income tax purposes. The registration number is 0716787-25-08.

As a former beneficiary of The Pat Fletcher Scholarship Foundation, I can say without a doubt that this Organization made an enormous difference in my life. I can’t say enough about the people involved, especially the Fletcher family who’s kindness and generosity allowed me to pursue my dreams. I’ll be forever grateful.
